Playa guiones
People are often confused about Nosara and Playa Guiones, wondering if they’re both the same place. Therefore, to make this clear, Nosara is a coast-town that has different beaches and Playa Guiones is the most touristic and famous one.
Playa Guiones belongs to the Ostional Refugee. An important protected area known for its massive turtle “arrivadas”. Due to this, there are strict regulations in town. This regulations include: forbid driving on the beach and building within 200 meters from the coastline. This has had a very positive impact in the way Nosara community has developed.

You’ll find yourself in the perfect place for all levels of surfing: From beginners to intermediate and advanced surfers. Playa Guiones is one of the most consistent surf points in the whole world. In other words, you will find good waves all year round. Even if there is no swell you can always have a great surf session. It is very gentle for beginners who want to learn, but also fun and challenging for intermediate to advanced surfers. This beach break can hold small and large swells depending on the season. This is a dream place for every surfer, as the water is always warm and safe.
